Welcome.

Greetings. My name is Lance and this is my blog. Two years ago on this day, I attempted to start this site. As with most projects of mine, the plans for this site were too grand, too involved, and thus the site became too…unfinished. The opening four paragraphs of my first forsaken blog entry follow:
July 29, 2006. I’ve just turned 30 years old. That’s pretty fucking old.
As the clock passed midnight, my Friday night of pizza, HGTV and laundry came to a close. Beth is sleeping on the couch, Conan is on mute, and if I didn’t already confess today was my 30th birthday, I am sure you could guessed my age from the dossier of dull I have just provided. Two years ago I would have abhorred the thought of wasting a Friday night in such a way, but now I need a Friday night like this to have hopes for a somewhat exciting Saturday. Also, as my more recent have birthdays come around, I have become a bit more contemplative immediately preceding the days, and tonight was as good a night as any to think about the last year and the last 30.
Aside from realizing the obvious stigma of the word and the actuality of pronouncing your age with a “th” instead of a “tw,” I don’t feel any older. I’m bald; I’m married; and I have not considered myself young for some time.
Two years ago, I made a list of things bad habits and things I wanted to change about myself, and it is fairly disheartening to realize I how little I have changed. I still over-commit, I am still late, I still don’t answer my phone or check messages, and I am obviously still half-assing things.
Two years after that failed attempt, I have decided to give this another shot. I’m still bald, I’m still married, I’m obviously still half-assing things, but occasionally I will finish something from time to time. Hopefully this site (as well as its author) will see some progress in the coming months.
